Day 01 - Delhi
Arrive
in Delhi and transfer to a hotel. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the
Hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi - Bikaner
Early
morning proceed by surface to Bikaner (400 kms). On arrival check in at the
Hotel.
Day 03 : Bikaner - Kakku
Morning
proceed on a half-day's sightseeing tour of the city visiting the Bikaner
Fort. Surrounded by ramparts 9 metres thick and flanked by bastions and
round towers, this fort was built by Raja Rai Singh in the16th Century. This
impressive fort houses 37 pavilions and palaces which are all worth seeing.
Afternoon proceed by surface to Kakku village. Meals and overnights in
tents.
Day 04 : Kakku - Sobhana
After
breakfast proceed on camel-back to sobhana carrying packed lunches. Camp
again in tents tonight.
Day 05 : Sobhana - Kalansar
After
Breakfast, depart on camel-back for Kalansar carrying packed lunches, set
camp.
Day 06 : Khimsar - Jaisalmer
After
breakfast, proceed by Car/ Coach into the heart of the Thar Desert,
Jaisalmer itself was founded in 1156 by Rawai Jaisal. The nucleus of
attraction is a massive fort surrounded by a wall of 5 kms interspersed with
99 turrets. The most exquisite carvings highlight it's golden, honey-yellow
stone. Narrow streets lead you to fine jain temples - the earliest date to
the 12th century - and Havells (castles) of which the most exquisite is the
Patwon Ki Haveli. Spend the night at your hotel.
Day
07 : Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
Morning leave for a half day's sightseeing
tour of Jaisalmer visiting the Fort and the Havells. Afternoon proceed by
Car/Coach from the heart of the Thar desert to Jodhpur - it's gateway.
Day
08 : Jodhpur - Jaipur
Morning half-day's sightseeing tour of the
fortified city of Jodhpur founded by Rao Jodha, Chief of the Rathore clan,
1459 AD. Atop a rocky hill it is 125 meters high. The fort is entered
through several formidable gates and was once considered invincible. The
palaces within are noted for their fine lattice work in red sandstone. You
will also visit Jaswant Thada, an imposing marble memorial built in 1899 in
memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II, and the museum located in the Umald
Bhavan public gardens. Afternoon proceed by Car/Coach to Jaipur. On arrival
check in at a Hotel.
Day 09 : Jaipur - Delhi
Jaipur,
the Capital of Rajasthan, is a well planned city with building made of pink
sandstone. It was founded in 1727 by the Astronomer - King Sawal Jai Singh
II. It is a walled city with seven gated, pvaed roads, and divided into
seven rectangular blocks. The morning sightseeing tour includes the
Maharaja's city palace and the observatory. The Albert Museum, Ram Nivas
Gardens, and a drive past Hawa Mahal ( Palace of Winds), and the pink.
Proceed by surface to Delhi. On arrival check in at a Hotel.
Day
10 : Delhi
Morning sightseeing tour of New Delhi visiting the
Rastrapati Bhavan, the India Gate. The Parliament House, Humayun's Tomb, and
the Qutub Minar. Afternoon sightseeing of Old Delhi, visiting the Jama
Masjid, the Raj Ghat, the finally the Red Fort to witness the sound &
light show.
